Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi made the remarks at a press conference with his Pakistan counterpart Mohammad Ishaq Dar in Islamabad on Tuesday.
"Iran and Pakistan have historical, cultural and civilizational relations and the two countries are committed to expanding economic, political, scientific and cultural cooperation to strengthen their friendly and fraternal relations," the Iranian minister said.
"Terrorism as a common threat requires bilateral and regional cooperation to deal with it; Iran and Pakistan will continue their security and military cooperation in this field," Araghchi said elsewhere.
"We invite the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan to make an official visit to Iran and attend the upcoming meeting of ECO ministers in Tehran," he later said.
